How We Make Money
fix my ping is reader-supported. When you click a link and sign up for or purchase a service we recommend, we may earn a commission — at no additional cost to you. Here's how we generate revenue:
- Affiliate Commissions (CJ Affiliate) — We earn commissions from qualifying purchases and sign-ups through CJ Affiliate links. This includes ping boosters (GearUP via Merchant 101799128) and VPN services (NordVPN, Surfshark via Merchant 101801083).
- Direct Affiliate Programs — ExitLag, WTFast, and NoPing provide referral commissions through their own affiliate programs. ExitLag: exitlag.com/refer/10315894. NoPing: nopi.ng/fixmyping.
- Amazon Associates — As an Amazon Associate (tag: fixmyping-20), we earn from qualifying purchases of gaming gear — headsets, keyboards, mice, routers — linked from our gear review pages.
- Google AdSense — Display advertising appears throughout the site. Revenue is based on impressions and clicks.
Our Commitment to Independence
We take our independence seriously. Here's what you need to know:
- No Paid Placements. Ever. — Rankings are based on our standardized testing methodology: baseline measurement → route optimization → 10-match sample → jitter/packet loss → usability scoring. Commission rates do not influence rankings.
- We Test Everything Ourselves — Every ping booster and VPN on this site was tested by us on real game servers — Valorant, CS2, Apex Legends, Fortnite, Escape From Tarkov, and World of Warcraft. No "best of" list is compiled from reading other people's reviews.
- Free Trials Recommended First — We always recommend trying 2-3 boosters using their free trials before committing to a subscription. You should never pay for a service you haven't tested on your own connection.
- We Don't Accept Free Products — We pay for our own subscriptions. No booster or VPN company gives us free access in exchange for reviews.
